Prevention

The best life is the one lived well with no pain or diseases that reduced the quality and quantity of life. Many of life's obstacles can be avoided. Prevention has worked well when you never knew you needed it.

Mitigation

Some problems cannot be prevented or cured. These issues are often chronic and their solutions are to reduce distress and keep your pet comfortable.

Fleas and Ticks are unpleasant by themselves but they also spread diseases. Safe products are available to treat and prevent.

Worms like Heartworms, Roundworms, Hook, Lung, Whip and Tapeworms can be sneaky and only visible when present in large numbers. Check a sample and treat or prevent. Worms often come from a contaminated environment.

Starting with a New Pet; Get them started right! Ask us how. Whether a new puppy kitten or older adoptee. The first steps will influence health for the rest of their life.

Nutrition as Medicine; We are excited by nutrition products that show a proven benefit in the treatment, prevention or mitigation of diseases. Also health is affected by not only by what you feed but also how you feed. Weigh both your pet and food to ensure the correct amount is fed. If your pet is not at a healthy weight or has other food problems we are here to help.

Oral Health Treatment and Prevention One of the most common sources of hidden pain is an unhealthy mouth. Broken teeth, gum disease, teeth in the wrong spot, teeth dissolving are common reasons for pain. If your pets teeth and gums are not smooth, clean, intact, like in the first image, they need to be seen. If they look good lets keep them that way.

Athletic and Active for Life For our pets an active life gives them and us joy. Pain for any reason reduces that joy. If a pet has changed how active they are, 99% of the time it is due to pain. Start early to prevent pain, and treat when present. We use arthritis modifying agents, diets, treats, medications, surgery, platelet rich plasma [PRP], stem cells, laser therapy, and physiotherapy. Vaccines; Images of preventable diseases can be found elsewhere and are too distressing for us to show. For safe, inexpensive and effective prevention of contagious diseases we turn to vaccines. Vaccination is a medical procedure and should be treated with respect to ensure safety and effectiveness. Rabies, Distemper, Kennel Cough, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, Lyme, Calicivirus, Feline Leukaemia, Rhinotracheitis virus are all issues we may vaccinate for. Health Assurance Plans [Wellness Plans, or Managed Care] Many needs of the modern pet are predictable and/or ongoing. These are managed better through a yearly subscription plan. You can build your own plan or use one our preferred plans. Designed to include check ups, vaccines, early disease detection, parasite detection, therapy monitoring and oral preventative care.
